I also flip through the dictionary for item ideas and I look through the yellow pages for business locations that could make great hunt challenges. If you know any business people who own local shops ask them if they would be willing to help you with your hunt. Obtain maps of your location if available or if necessary.

When you're done with this exercise, you'll have pages of notes, photos and items you've collected. A lot of times favor bags are saved for the end of the party, but right before present time is also a good time to hand them out. This is especially nice for younger kids who get jealous watching the birthday child rip into all those presents!!
Chairs and have the birthday child sit in a chair and have a chair sitting next to her. Saving cake time for the end is nice because the time can be adjusted as needed.

scavenger hunt birthday party. Everybody came and gathered around, talking, eating, and playing video games. As more and more clues were discovered, their excitement grew and they were now running from clue to clue, laughing and squealing as little girls and boys tend to do.
